PROGRAM OVERVIEW

THE 108 Mentorship Program is designed for experienced teachers who are ready to move beyond participation and into stewardship of the practice.

Over the course of the mentorship, participants will:

  • Complete 108 classes of THE 108* 36 of these classes can be Integrated Hatha

  • Maintain an online mentorship journal

  • Participate in practice teaching opportunities

  • Receive ongoing mentorship and feedback

  • Develop teaching competency through direct experience

  • Complete a final practical examination

*Bridge pathways available for qualified applicants.

THE 108 CLASS REQUIREMENT

Practice Before Permission

 

Participants are required to complete 108 classes of THE 108 with Brandy Lyn. 1/3 of these classes can be Integrated Hatha from any certified teacher.

Classes begin counting upon acceptance into the program and payment of the deposit.

Following each class, participants will complete an online journal documenting:

  • Practice observations

  • Teaching notes

  • Personal experiences

  • Questions for mentorship review

  • Areas requiring further study

The journal serves as both a record of development and an ongoing mentorship conversation.

PRACTICE TEACHING

Teaching competency is built through doing.

Throughout the mentorship, participants will be given opportunities to teach portions of class and receive direct feedback.

Areas of evaluation include:

  • Observation skills

  • Set-up and execution

  • Action language

  • Timing and pacing

  • Student safety

  • Class management

  • Precision of instruction

Teaching responsibilities increase as competency develops.

COMPETENCY STANDARDS

Expected by Graduation

 

The following competencies are expected by the completion of the mentorship program.

Graduates must demonstrate the ability to execute approximately 75% of THE 108 sequence, including competency in the following required asanas:

  • Unassisted Drop Back

  • One Leg Behind the Head

  • Both Legs Behind the Head (minimum floor entry)

  • Lotus

  • Seven Sisters Headstands

  • Forearm Stand from Headstand

  • Front Splits

  • Full Camel

  • Pigeon

  • Peacock

  • Full Spine Twist

  • Handstand without kicking up

  • At least half of the arm balances within THE 108 sequence

Individual timelines vary. The mentorship exists to develop these competencies through consistent practice and coaching.

PREREQUISITES

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Graduate of the Integrated Hatha Teacher Training

  • Minimum of seven years teaching experience by completion of the mentorship

  • Acceptance through the application process

BRIDGE PATHWAYS

54-Class Bridge

 

Qualified applicants may reduce the class requirement to 54 classes (10 of which can be Integrated Hatha) if they:

  • Have regularly attended THE 108 with Brandy Lyn for seven years or more

OR

  • Were directly authorized by Bikram Choudhury or Emmy Cleaves to lead the 84

Applicants must still meet all mentorship prerequisites.

 

72-Class Bridge

Qualified applicants may reduce the class requirement to 72 classes (18 of which can be Integrated Hatha) if they:

  • Have taught for ten years or more

  • Completed an 84 Teacher Training or mentorship program from a teacher directly authorized by Bikram Choudhury or Emmy Cleaves

  • Meet all mentorship prerequisites

TUITION

Investment

 

Tuition: $6,399

Deposit: $3,500

Any eligible THE 108 classes purchased after acceptance into the program will be applied toward tuition.

Remaining balance is due upon successful completion of the mentorship.
